As per most competitive forms of archery, Five Grains per pound is the standard shooting weight, unless the archer’s equipment qualifies for the as set out: Shooting weight is defined as the bow’s maximum draw as set up at the time of competition. A variance of Five Grains or two pounds of draw weight will be allowed for scale variation. For example, bow weight is 62 pounds X five grams per round = arrow weight, which must be 310 Grains, or the arrow will be too light, and you will be disqualified.
There is no limit on arrow speed if the arrows are Five Grains per pound is applied.
Where an archer’s equipment is shot at Five Grains per pound does not generate 290 feet per second, the archer may use arrows less than Five Grains per second.
Draw weight CAN NOT be adjusted after entering the shooting course
The maximum draw weight for each class will be as follows: Cub Classes – 40 pounds. Junior Classes – 60 pounds. All Female, Male and Traditional Classes – 80 pounds.
The Benchmark 3D Association Range Officials reserves the right to check and enforce any competitor’s equipment complies with this rule book at any time they see fit to do so. Any person found to be in breach of any of these rules will be penalised and or disqualified from the event.
